Our Camps
Since 2011 the Black Hills Hockey Academy has been a fixture in the South Dakota Summer Hockey Scene. BHHA athletes have gone on to have great success at local and also national hockey levels. We believe in reinvesting into the local minor hockey programs. Your commitment to the BHHA has allowed us to do so. Since we started, the BHHA has been able to donate over $13,500.00 back to local minor hockey teams and programs. We look forward to working with you again in 2020!

August Supercamp
Now in our 10th season, this is the week long camp that brought the Black Hills Hockey Academy to life. It is also the reason that the BHHA has gained the reputation of being one of South Dakota and the surrounding states premier hockey schools .

Spring Skills Camp
*New Format for 2020*
**Due to the closure of Roosevelt Ice Arena this camp has been cancelled for 2020**
June 15-19, 2020
The Spring Skills Camp is for skaters born in 2011 and older. This camp started in 2013 and has filled up each year since. This years Spring Skills Camp will be held Monday to Friday the week of June 15-19, 2020. Due to Coach Riley now residing in Kansas the old format of a camp spread out over multiple weeks is not longer feasible. This years camp will allow us to focus on skills training over the course of a week both on and off ice. The off ice work will include a wide range of drills that the students can continue to use at home over the rest of their summer break and beyond.
Each day will include 1 and a half hours of on ice training and 1 hour of off ice training. This year I will be accepting goalies for the spring skills sessions. Goalies will be required to have skaters gloves and stick for the off ice training. In this camp we will be working on skating and puck-handling skills including but not limited to edge work, body position, puck control, poise, puck confidence, power skating, using cross overs to build up speed, puck placement, shooting and scoring goals. These ice sessions are perfect for both the average player looking to take their game to the next level, and for the advanced player that is looking for that edge on their competition.
The cost of this camp is $250

Pre-Season Conditioning Camp
The pre-season camp runs from the last week of August through the beginning of October. This camp is recommended for athletes born in 2011 and older and will include 6 weeks of (2) ice sessions per week. There will be two or three groups that will be capped at 26 skaters and 4 goalies per group. Instructors will challenge the young skaters with high tempo drills, races and small area games that focus on puck movement and completing tasks at a high tempo. By pushing the athletes to levels of play they didn't know they were capable of, this camp will pay dividends when it comes time for try outs in October. Riley Weselowski will be coming back to run at least 6 of the skates personally, and Danny Battochio will be running the remainder using a combination of Riley's drills and his own.
This years camp Dates and Times. Each three hour ice block is divided into 1 hour sessions with a flood after the second skate. Your son or daughter will be in either one of the hours depending on their age. I will divide the groups once I have everyone registered.

TESTIMONIALS

“As a parent, I liked the length of camp and ice time for the money I paid. I also really appreciated the meals being included and that they were healthy for the kids - THANKS! Sara enjoyed them, too! We will be coming back next year and will recommend it to fellow players in the Pierre area.”
